Although Somalia is a vast expanse of pristine beaches, with white sands and turquoise waters, and a haven for marine life, poverty is a major issue in Somalia, especially among rural households and Internally Displaced Person (IDP) settlements. This means there is a significant need for better education for children and adults, sanitation, reliable electricity and most importantly improved reliable access to food and clean water.

Malawi, often called the “Warm Heart of Africa,” is renowned for its stunning scenery, including the crystal-clear waters of Lake Malawi, verdant highlands, and diverse wildlife. Despite its natural beauty, Malawi struggles with significant challenges. Poverty, displacement, and natural disasters have left many communities without consistent access to essential resources. The situation is particularly dire for children, many of whom don’t have access to quality education and healthcare. The most pressing concerns are malnutrition and lack of water.

Sudan is the country of golden dunes and ancient deserts. It is the third largest country in Africa with a population of over 41 million. Sudan has 21 million children, 6.5 million are less than 5 years old. Over 13 million children are in need of humanitarian assistance. Unfortunately 1 out of 18 children will not reach their fifth birthday. Poverty, displacement, conflict, and natural disasters have left many local communities lacking consistent availability of basic resources. MWL is committed to providing the necessities of life – food, and water – to those who may not have access otherwise. 

Many Senegalese face persistent challenges of an insecure food and water supply. Even when water is accessible, the absence of clean hygiene resources jeopardizes its safety and usability.
