Opening Doors
Education is a powerful tool that can uplift individuals and transform underserved communities and developing countries. College education has proven to be a catalyst for positive change, opening doors to better opportunities and empowering individuals to break free from the cycle of poverty.
Sadly, Palestinian students in Gaza face significant challenges due to limited resources and difficult living conditions. Poverty and lack of access to quality education hinder their growth and potential.
According to UNICEF, while education enrollment rates are high at 95.4% for basic early-age education; there are persistent challenges regarding school access, particularly for adolescent boys and children with disabilities, who experience higher dropout rates.
By the age of 15, a significant portion of boys (approximately 25%) and girls (around 7%) have already discontinued their education. This situation creates an uncertain future for Palestinian adolescents, exacerbated by staggering youth unemployment rates of 62% in Gaza.
That is why MWL is committed to making a difference by offering scholarships to deserving Palestinian students, giving them a chance to step out of the shadows and pursue higher education to unlock a brighter future.
