With the holiday season upon us, many cities around the U.S. are booming with jingle bells and sounds of “let it snow, let it snow, let it snow”. The air is crisp with winter freeze or if you are on the west coast, an imagined winter breeze. This time of the year typically brings joy, family, friends, gifts, and good food for many residents of the United States. For many on the other side of the world, wintertime elicits dread and fear.
Specifically, for those people living in poverty or conflict zones, winter brings cold that kills. Every year Mercy Without Limits works quickly in communities we serve to ensure the cold does not kill any children, elderly, or families who simply don’t have the resources to stay warm. For every $30 you spend buying a gift for a family or friend, spend $30 to ensure one family has enough jackets for their kids.
With your generosity and support, last year we shared 750 blankets and 308 jackets to vulnerable families in Jordan. Likewise, inside Syria, Turkey, and Iraq Mercy Without Limits made sure people in communities we serve stayed warm winter 2017.
No parent should have to kiss the cold cheek of their child goodnight one last time because the cold took their son. You can stop the cold from killing their little ones.
