Donor Care Officer – Kansas City

Job Summary:

The Donor Care Officer will play a crucial role in cultivating strong relationships with our donors. You will be responsible for ensuring that donors feel valued, appreciated, and connected to our organization. Your primary objective is to provide excellent donor care, improve donor retention, and contribute to the overall success of our fundraising efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with donors through effective communication and engagement.
  • Acknowledge and thank donors for their contributions promptly and personally.
  • Manage donor inquiries, feedback, and concerns with professionalism and empathy.
  • Collaborate with the fundraising team to create personalized donor stewardship plans.
  • Organize and coordinate donor appreciation events, such as thank-you dinners and recognition programs.
  • Keep accurate and updated donor records in the organization’s database.
  • Prepare donor reports and provide data analysis to support fundraising strategies.
  • Work closely with the marketing team to create donor-centered communication materials.
  • Stay informed about the organization’s projects and initiatives to effectively convey the impact of donations to donors.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
  • Previous experience in donor relations, customer service, or a related field is a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Proficiency in using donor management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A passion for the organization’s mission and a genuine desire to engage and connect with donors.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
